Women's Cross Country Team Honored By USTFCCCA

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its NCAA Division II All-Academic Teams for the 2007. In all, 99 women’s teams in NCAA Division II received the honor. Of those 99 women’s programs, 12 came from Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, 10 from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and nine from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. The Great Lakes Valley Conference and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association each had seven All-Academic Teams on the list. Four Harriers Named To USTFCCCA All-Academic Team For Cross Country

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its 2007 NCAA Division II All-Academic Team members. A total of 127 male student-athletes from 67 Division II institutions and 202 female student-athletes from 99 Division II institutions received the honor. To qualify for the individual All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have completed 24 semester or 36 quarter hours and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale. The student-athletes must also finish in the top 30 percent of individual participants at their respective regional cross country championships. Read more...
Cross Country Lands Ten On MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll

The Fort Hays State cross country squad had ten members of its 2007 team named to the MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. Four men and six women received the honor. Men's team members earning the honor were senior Aaron Davidson and juniors Matt Goetz, Brendan Ptacek and Dan Yoder. Women's team members earning the honor were senior Shannan Herzet, juniors Katie Kersenbrock and Ashlee Orr, and sophomores Mallory Joseph, Kylene Kirmer and Alison Mishler. Read more...
Women’s Cross Country Team Enters National Rankings

The Fort Hays State women’s cross country team leaped into the final USTFCCCA National Poll this past week after its fourth place performance at the NCAA Division II South Central Regional in Joplin, Mo. Truman State University was the host of the MIAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning in Kirksville, Mo. Missouri Southern captured both the men’s and women’s team titles in the event. Fort Hays State’s women finished fifth and the men tied for sixth. Read more...

The Fort Hays State cross country team held the annual FHSU Tiger Open on Saturday morning in Hays at the FHSU Cross Country Course. A mix of schools from NCAA Division I and II, NAIA and junior colleges competed in the event. The FHSU women took third and the men took seventh. Read more...
FHSU Harriers Compete At Cowboy Jamboree

The Tiger cross country teams competed in the Cowboy Jamboree, hosted by Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla., on Saturday, September 29. The FHSU women finished 12th out of 18 teams competing in the university division. The FHSU men finished 14th in the event, with 17 teams competing in the university division. The Fort Hays State cross country teams were in action last Saturday at the Tabor College Invitational in Hillsboro, Kan. The men’s race was an 8K race, that included 110 total runners, while the women’s race was a 5K run that included 94 total runners. The Fort Hays State cross country team was in action on Saturday at both the Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo., and the McPherson Invitational in McPherson, Kan. The Fort Hays State University cross country team will open its 2007 season when they host the KFC Alumni/Varsity Run this Saturday in Hays at the Tiger Cross Country Course located just to the north of the tennis courts near Cunningham Hall. The event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. The Fort Hays State men's and women's squads will take on former Tiger runners in this annual event. Fort Hays State head cross country and assistant track coach Jason McCullough announced his distance signings for the 2007-08 cross country and track and field seasons. McCullough adds 10 runners to the men's program and seven runners to the women's program. Read more...
