Cross Country Coaches Compete In Emporia State Invitational
Fort Hays State cross country coaches Jason McCullough, Elias Diaz and Matt Goetz competed in the Emporia State Cross Country Invitational on Friday, October 2. McCullough, the head coach of the FHSU cross country programs, won the men’s 8k race, topping a field of 110 runners which included 10 college teams. Read more...

Tiger Cross Country Squads Honored As USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams
The Fort Hays State men’s and women’s cross country programs were each honored by the USTFCCCA as All-Academic Teams for the 2008 season. The teams that are honored with this award must average a 3.0 GPA. Fort Hays State was one of 58 men’s teams and 99 women’s teams to earn the honor. The women’s team ranked 23rd nationally with a GPA of 3.48 and the men’s team ranked 47th nationally with a 3.07 GPA. Read more...

The Fort Hays State men’s and women’s cross country squads competed at the NCAA Division II South Central Regional in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday morning (Nov. 8). Tiger Cross Country Teams Win Oklahoma Baptist Invitational
The Fort Hays State men’s and women’s cross country teams were each victorious at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational in Shawnee, Okla. The men’s team scored 22 points, defeating second place Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene, which tied with 59 points each. The Tiger women accumulated 36 points, good for edging out Oklahoma Baptist by seven points for the top spot. Read more...

Cross Country Turns In Great Performance At Texas Tech Invitational
The Fort Hays State men’s and women’s cross country squads turned in solid efforts at the Texas Tech Invitational on Friday (Sept. 19) in Lubbock, Texas. The men’s team finished third out of 12 teams competing and was the top Division II men’s squad in the race. McCullough Signs Nine Athletes For 2008 Cross Country Season
Fort Hays State cross country coach Jason McCullough announced the signing of nine athletes for the 2008 cross country season. There are six men’s signings and three women’s signings for the upcoming season. The recruiting class includes two junior college transfers and seven high school graduates. Read more...

Women's Cross Country Team Honored By USTFCCCA
The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its NCAA Division II All-Academic Teams for the 2007. In all, 99 women’s teams in NCAA Division II received the honor. Of those 99 women’s programs, 12 came from Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, 10 from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and nine from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. The Great Lakes Valley Conference and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association each had seven All-Academic Teams on the list. Fort Hays State’s women’s team ranked 30th on the list with a team GPA of 3.48. Read more...

Four Harriers Named To USTFCCCA All-Academic Team For Cross Country
The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its 2007 NCAA Division II All-Academic Team members. A total of 127 male student-athletes from 67 Division II institutions and 202 female student-athletes from 99 Division II institutions received the honor. To qualify for the individual All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have completed 24 semester or 36 quarter hours and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale. The student-athletes must also finish in the top 30 percent of individual participants at their respective regional cross country championships. Read more...

Cross Country Lands Ten On MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll
The Fort Hays State cross country squad had ten members of its 2007 team named to the MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. Four men and six women received the honor. Men's team members earning the honor were senior Aaron Davidson and juniors Matt Goetz, Brendan Ptacek and Dan Yoder. Women's team members earning the honor were senior Shannan Herzet, juniors Katie Kersenbrock and Ashlee Orr, and sophomores Mallory Joseph, Kylene Kirmer and Alison Mishler. Read more...

The Fort Hays State women’s cross country team leaped into the final USTFCCCA National Poll this past week after its fourth place performance at the NCAA Division II South Central Regional in Joplin, Mo. The Tiger cross country teams competed in the Cowboy Jamboree, hosted by Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla., on Saturday, September 29. The Fort Hays State cross country teams were in action last Saturday at the Tabor College Invitational in Hillsboro, Kan. The men’s race was an 8K race, that included 110 total runners, while the women’s race was a 5K run that included 94 total runners. Tiger Cross Country Opens Saturday
The Fort Hays State University cross country team will open its 2007 season when they host the KFC Alumni/Varsity Run this Saturday in Hays at the Tiger Cross Country Course located just to the north of the tennis courts near Cunningham Hall. The event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. The Fort Hays State men's and women's squads will take on former Tiger runners in this annual event. Saturday marks the 21st installment of this event that began in 1987. Read more...

McCullough Announces Distance Signings For 2007-08
