Fort Hays State senior Kelsie Paul was honored as a RMAC All-Academic First Team selection in women's golf. Paul was the only FHSU player of the 12 individuals selected to the first or second teams. Nielsen Earns RMAC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year Honors in Women’s Golf; Guffey Named RMAC Coach of the Year
On the heels of their first ever conference regular season and tournament championships in women’s golf, the Fort Hays State women’s golf team piled up even more honors with the release of the All-RMAC Women’s Golf Team. Fort Hays State freshman Samantha Nielsen was named the RMAC Golfer of the Year and Freshman of the Year due to her consistent play throughout the RMAC sanctioned events this season. Women’s Golf Ranked Third In Central Region
The first set of NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Regional Rankings were released on April 2, 2009. The FHSU women’s team was tabbed third in the Central Region in the first set of rankings. The Tigers are the highest ranked RMAC team in the region, as Mesa State is currently ranked fifth. Leading the region rankings is Concordia-St. Paul, followed by Upper Iowa. Montana State-Billings, Western New Mexico, and Adams State are the other RMAC schools currently listed in the Top 12. Read more...

The Fort Hays State women’s golf team hosted the FHSU Invitational at Smoky Hill Country Club in Hays on Monday and Tuesday (March 30-31). The Fort Hays State women’s golf team competed in its final tournament of the fall season, the Colorado Christian Invitational, October 13-14. Fort Hays State finished second out of the ten teams competing in the event with a team score of 661. Mesa State won the team title by just one stroke, shooting 660 as a team. Paul & Householter Lead FHSU Women’s Golf To Second Straight Win
The Fort Hays State women’s golf team was in action for the second consecutive week in Colorado, this time at the Regis University Invitational, held at the Fox Hollow Golf Course in Lakewood, Colo. The Tigers came away with their second consecutive team title as they topped a field of four teams with a total of 665. Johansen Earns RMAC Player of the Week Honors
Fort Hays State freshman women’s golfer Kiley Johansen earned RMAC Player of the Week honors for her efforts at the Mesa State Maverick Invitational earlier this week. Johansen won the tournament by one stroke with scores of 79 and 80, a total of 17-over par. She helped the Lady Tigers to their first team title in a tournament this year in the process and she gains this honor after just her second collegiate tournament. Read more...

The Fort Hays State women’s golf team played at the Mesa State Maverick Invitational in Grand Junction, Colo., on Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 22-23). The Tigers won the second RMAC event of the fall by 10 strokes, with a two-round total of 655. Women's Golf Added As MIAA Sport
The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association will conduct its first women's golf championship during the 2008-09 academic year. With the inclusion of the University of Nebraska-Omaha into the MIAA membership July 1, it brought the number of conference institutions sponsoring the sport to five. Others fielding women's golf squads include Fort Hays State University, Missouri Western State University, Northwest Missouri State University and Truman State University. Read more...

The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) women's golf all-academic teams were recently announced as voted on by the RMAC sports information directors. Fort Hays State's Shelby White was named to the first team and was a unanimous selection, while teammate Kelsie Paul was named to the second team.

Tiger Golfers Finish Sixth At MIAA Championships
The Fort Hays State men’s golf team was in action this past Monday and Tuesday at the Branson Creek Golf Course in Hollister, Mo., for the MIAA Championships. The Tigers finished the three-round tournament sixth as a team with a team score of 947. Winning the team title was Washburn, who finished with a team score of 884. Central Missouri finished second in the team standings with a team score of 901, 17 shots behind Washburn. Ryan Deutsch of Washburn defeated Justin Yoder of Central Missouri on the first playoff hole after both finished with a three-round total score of 217 (four-over par) to win the individual title. The highest finisher for the Tigers was Brendon Gross, who finished in a tie for 22nd place after rounds of 77, 79, and 79 for a total of 235. The next highest finisher for FHSU was Jacob Hoover, who finished in a tie for 24th place after rounds of 76, 80, and 80 for a total of 236. Read more...

Lady Tiger Golfers End Season Fourth at RMAC Championships
The Fort Hays State women’s golf team concluded its 2007-08 season this past Saturday and Sunday at the RMAC Championships hosted by Western New Mexico University in Silver City, New Mexico. The tournament was played at the Silver City Golf Course. Fort Hays State finished the event in fourth place after a team score of 708. Winning the team title was host-school Western New Mexico, who finished with a team score of 638. Tina Bickford of Western New Mexico won the individual title with a two-round total of 150 (six-over par). FHSU was led by senior Shelby White, who was the lone Lady Tiger golfer to finish in the top ten as she finished seventh after scores of 80 and 82 for a 162 total.

Rotolo Ties For Third At Kansas City Intercollegiate Invitational
The Fort Hays State men’s golf team competed in the Kansas City Intercollegiate Invitational this past Monday in Kansas City, Mo., at the Swope Memorial Golf Course as rain shortened the event to only one day of action. Fort Hays State finished in a tie for fifth place along with Southwest Baptist with a team score of 299. Missouri Southern won the event after posting a team score of 290. The Tigers were led in the event by Nick Rotolo, who finished in a tie for third place along with three other golfers after shooting a two-under par 70. Ben Perry of Missouri Southern won the event after shooting a six-under par 66.

Lady Tiger Golfers Finish Second At Thunderwolf Invitational
The Fort Hays State women’s golf team was in action this past Monday and Tuesday at the Thunderwolf Invitational hosted by CSU-Pueblo University in Pueblo, Colorado. The tournament was played at the Walking Stick Golf Course. Fort Hays State finished second in the six-team event with a team score of 691. Mesa State won the team title with a team score of 669, 22 shots ahead of the Lady Tigers. Maggie Cole of Mesa State won the individual title with a two-round total of 160 (16-over par), while FHSU’s Shelby White finished in second place after rounds of 84 and 78 for a total of 162. Also finishing in the top ten for the Lady Tigers was Erika Householter, who finished in ninth place after rounds of 87 and 86 for a 173 total.

Men's Golf Finishes Fifth At Missouri Western Invitational
The Fort Hays State men’s golf team competed in the Missouri Western Invitational this past Monday and Tuesday in St. Joseph, Mo., as the team finished fifth in the nine team event. Washburn won the team title with a score of 568, 13 shots ahead of second-place Missouri Southern. The Ichabods’ Matt Lazzo won the individual title after recording a two-round total of 138 (six-under par).

The Fort Hays State women’s golf team was in action this past Monday and Tuesday at the Lady Buff Stampede in Amarillo, Texas. The team finished fifth in the 11-team event with a team score of 702. Western New Mexico won the team title with a team score of 652, finishing five shots ahead of host-school West Texas A&M. Tina Bickford of Western New Mexico won the individual title with a two-round total of 150 (6-over par). The tournament was played at the Tascosa Country Club.

The Lady Tigers shot 355, one stroke better than second place Rockhurst University, to claim the team title. Shelby White won the individual title by carding a 76.
