Tennis Completes Season At MIAA Tournament
The Fort Hays State tennis squad completed its 2007-08 season on Saturday (April 26) at the MIAA Tournament in Topeka, Kan. The Lady Tigers were the #7 seed in the tournament and lost both of their duals on Saturday to finish with a record of 9-12 overall. Fort Hays State lost to #2 seed Southwest Baptist in the first round 5-0, then lost to #6 seed Missouri Southern in the consolation bracket 5-2. Fort Hays State and Missouri Western were unable to meet for the seventh-place match due to weather cancelling the remaining duals on the consolation side of the bracket. Read more...

Tennis Falls To Emporia State 5-0; Plays Southwest Baptist In MIAA Tournament Opening Round
The Fort Hays State tennis squad completed its regular season on Friday afternoon in Topeka, Kan. The Lady Tigers resumed their suspended match with Emporia State from last week that was called off due to inclement weather. The Lady Hornets won 5-0, with several of the singles matches unfinished due to both teams having to play several matches tomorrow in the MIAA Tournament. Read more...

The Fort Hays State tennis squad hosted Washburn University on Wednesday afternoon (April 23) in Hays in a make-up match against the Lady Blues. The original match date was washed out due to poor weather conditions in Hays. Washburn won the match by a score of 9-0. Read more...

Lady Tiger Tennis Falls To Nebraska-Kearney
The Fort Hays State tennis team travelled to Kearney, Neb., on Tuesday, April 15, to face former Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rival Nebraska-Kearney. The Lopers would win all three doubles matches and three of six singles matches to win by a 6-3 score. With the loss, FHSU drops to 9-8 overall on the season, yet remains 1-4 in the MIAA.

Tennis Match With Emporia State Suspended
The Fort Hays State conference tennis match with Emporia State had just began before rain, hail, and sleet periodically passed over the FHSU Tennis Courts, causing a suspension of the match between the Tigers and Hornets. The Fort Hays State tennis squad played two matches in Wichita, Kan., on Tuesday (March 25). The Lady Tigers played a neutral site conference match against Missouri Southern before taking on Newman University in their second match of the day. Tennis Picks Up First Ever MIAA Win; Goes 1-2 Over Weekend
The Fort Hays State tennis squad played three conference matches this past weekend on the road. On Friday, Fort Hays State lost to Northwest Missouri State by a 6-0 count, but bounced back Saturday for a 6-3 win over Missouri Western. It was the first ever MIAA win for the FHSU tennis program. The Fort Hays State tennis team was in action this past Saturday at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska. The Lady Tigers picked up a 6-3 win and improved to 6-1 on the season as the team gets ready for MIAA competition. Flax Announces Two Signings For 2008-09 Tennis Season
Fort Hays State head tennis coach Brian Flax announced Tuesday the signing of two players for the 2008-09 season. The two signings include Kayla Jarvis of Phillipsburg, Kan., and Krista Lindsey of Goddard, Kan. Both will incoming freshmen next season.

Tiger Tennis Team Finishes Fall Season Ranked Ninth in the ITA North Central Region
The Fort Hays State tennis team finished the fall season ranked ninth in the ITA North Central Region. The Tigers finished the fall season at 5-1. The MIAA claims seven of the top ten rankings in the poll including the top three spots in Emporia State, Southwest Baptist and Washburn. Other MIAA schools ranked include Truman State fifth, Northwest Missouri State sixth and Missouri Southern seventh.

The Fort Hays State tennis team traveled to the Denver, Colo., area this weekend for four matches. The Lady Tigers won three of four matches over the weekend, improving their overall record to 4-1 for the season. FHSU split its matches on Friday with a 5-4 win over Metro State, then a 6-3 loss to Mesa State. On Saturday, FHSU defeated Upper Iowa 5-4 and then Colorado Christian 5-0. Read more...
