FHSU Track and Field Teams Land 27 On MIAA Commisssioner's Academic Honor Roll
The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced today the 2008 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for track and field. Twenty-seven Tiger athletes earned the honor, which included on the men’s team Rocky Baalmann, Justin Bauer, Aaron Davidson, Andrew Gannon, Trayer Gassman, Matt Goetz, Kyle Jilka, Aaron Pablo, Nick Panek, A.J. Preisner, Kyle Reed, Ryan Small, Andrew Smith, Aaron Yoder, and Dan Yoder. On the women’s team, those Tiger athletes earning this honor included Christa Bergmann, Ashley Dopita, Brooke Hobbs, Mallory Joseph, Katie Kersenbrock, Kylene Kirmer, Jessica Kuhn, Megan McClain, Lindsay McCormick, Alison Mishler, Ashlee Orr, and Jayci Peters.

Maska, Jilka, and Capps Earn All-American Honors
Six Fort Hays State athletes were in action earlier this weekend at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Pomona, Calif. Three of the six athletes competing for FHSU at nationals garnered All-American honors. The three athletes earning the honors were seniors Brady Maska and Kyle Jilka, and freshman Adam Capps. Six Athletes To Represent Fort Hays State At Outdoor Track and Field Championships
Six track and field athletes from Fort Hays State have qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships in Pomona, Calif., May 22-24. There will be five men and one woman representing the Tigers. The men’s qualifiers include senior Brady Maska (discus and hammer throw), junior Bryan Haynes (100 and 200 meters), sophomore Garrett Edgar (javelin), senior Kyle Jilka (javelin), and freshman Adam Capps (javelin). Junior Lindsay McCormick is the lone women’s qualifier and will compete in the javelin. Read more...

Tiger Track and Field Teams Compete In ESU Twilight Qualifier
The Fort Hays State track and field teams were in action this past Saturday at the ESU Twilight Qualifier in Emporia, Kansas. The meet was the last chance for participants to try and qualify for the NCAA II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held in Pomona, California, from May 22-24.

The Fort Hays State track and field squads competed at the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Maryville, Mo., May 3-4. The men’s team finished fourth with 118.5 points, just a half point behind Emporia State for third. The women’s team finished seventh with 61 points. Read more...

The Fort Hays State track and field teams were in action at the Loper Twilight on Thursday, April 24, in Kearney, Nebraska. The Tiger men’s and women’s teams combined for 13 first-place finishes and set seven new meet records.

The Fort Hays State track and field teams competed in two meets this past week. Last Wednesday, a select number of Tiger athletes competed in the Tabor College Invitational in Hillsboro, Kansas. Then from Thursday-Saturday, the team also competed in the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kansas.

Tigers Win Five Of Six Duals At FHSU Quadrangular
Fort Hays State track and field hosted a quadrangular on Saturday (April 5) at Lewis Field Stadium and Alex Francis Track in Hays. Also participating in the event was Chadron State, Nebraska-Kearney and Pittsburg State. The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its Track & Field Athletes of the Week for the week of action ending on March 30. Brady Maska earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week and Bryan Haynes earned Men's Track Athlete of the Week. For Haynes, it was his third athlete of the week award of the year, after garnering the honor twice during the indoor season. Tiger Track And Field Wins 15 Events At Alex Francis Classic
Fort Hays State University hosted the 15th Annual Alex Francis Classic in Hays on Saturday, March 29 at Lewis Field Stadium and Alex Francis Track in Hays. The Tigers were victorious in 15 events, which included 13 individual first place finishers and two relay team wins. FHSU won eight men’s events and seven women’s events. Read more...

Haynes Wins National Title In 200 Meters; Maska 4th In Shot Put
Fort Hays State track and field athletes Bryan Haynes and Brady Maska competed in the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Mankato, Minn. Both individuals earned All-American honors. Bryan Haynes grabbed Fort Hays State’s first individual indoor national championship since 2001 as he won the 200 meter dash. Tiger Indoor Track & Field Teams Compete In Prairie Wolf and Wildcat Invitationals
The Fort Hays State indoor track and field teams competed in two meets this past week. On Friday, the team competed at the Prairie Wolf Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., and on Saturday, the team competed at the Wildcat Invitational in Manhattan, Kan. The Tigers had two second-place finishers, three third-place finishers, four fourth-place finishers, and four fifth-place finishers combined in the two meets.

Tiger Indoor Track & Field Teams Compete In Two Meets Over Weekend
The Fort Hays State indoor track and field teams competed in two meets this past week. On Friday, a select number of Tiger athletes participated in the Jayhawk Invitational in Lawrence, Kan., while on Saturday, most of the remaining team competed in the Charlie Foster Classic, in Kearney, Neb. In the two events combined, FHSU had two event winners, eight second-place finishes, and nine third-place finishes. Winning individual events were Bryan Haynes in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.60 seconds at the Charlie Foster Classic and Ashlee Orr, who won the 5000-meter run at the Jayhawk Invitational with a time of 18:39.84.

Tiger Indoor Track and Field Teams Compete In UNK Pre-Holiday Open
The Fort Hays State indoor track and field teams were in action last Friday at the Nebraska-Kearney Pre-Holiday Classic in Kearney, Nebraska. Fort Hays State had a total of 15 individuals compete in the meet, while four members won individual events. These individuals include on the men’s side Jordan Stroup, who won the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:02.16, David Funk, who won the pole vault with a height of 14’ 11.50”, and Drew Schmidt, who tied for first in the high jump with a height of 6’ 4.75”. On the women’s side, Kelsey Martin was the lone individual winner after winning the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.55 seconds.

The Fort Hays State indoor track and field teams opened their season this past Saturday at the KSU Open. FHSU had a total of seven individuals compete in the meet.
