Kohler Named New Head Volleyball Coach At FHSU
On Wednesday, January 7, 2009, Kurt Kohler was named the new head volleyball coach at Fort Hays State University. Kohler comes to Fort Hays State from Barton County Community College, where he coached volleyball during the 2005-06 season, but then took over as Barton County’s athletic director for the past two and a half years. Kohler brings three years of head coaching experience at the community college level, where he posted an overall record of 89-44. Read more...

Rezende Earns All-MIAA Honors
Fort Hays State junior outside hitter Lilian Rezende was named to the All-MIAA Volleyball Teams on Wednesday, November 19. She was the only Tiger selected to the all-conference teams, earning an honorable mention selection. Read more...

The Fort Hays State volleyball squad played its final two matches of the Washburn Invitational in Topeka, Kan., on Saturday, October 4. Just like Friday, the Tigers split their two matches to finish the tournament at 2-2. The Fort Hays State volleyball squad played at Nebraska-Omaha on Friday evening (Sept. 26) in another conference match-up. The Tigers could not tally their first conference road win of the season, dropping the match 3-0 to the Mavericks. The Tigers struggled offensively in the match, hitting -.025 as a team. Fort Hays State University head volleyball coach Steve Smith announced today the signing of six individuals for the 2008 volleyball season. The recruiting class includes one junior transfer and five freshmen. The Fort Hays State volleyball squad hosted #18 ranked Pittsburg State in its final regular season game of 2007 Saturday evening in Hays at Gross Coliseum. After falling down 2-0 in the match, FHSU forced five games in the match in a remarkable comeback effort. Fort Hays State University head volleyball coach Steve Smith, announced the signing of four players for the 2007 season. The recruiting class includes two junior college transfers and two freshmen.
