Fort Hays State men's soccer player
Carlos Linares has been selected to tryouts for the Salvadoran under 23 national team. Linares, a standout defender for the Tigers, is one of 17 players, including only four defenders, invited to the camp in Los Angeles, Calif.
The camp is being held from February 2-5 with the purpose of identify and evaluating players who could join the Under 23 Salvadoran Men's National Team. The team will play matches against Chivas USA Under 18 team on Thurday (Feb. 2), Loyola Marymount on Friday (Feb. 3), Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday (Feb. 4) and another match against Loyola Marymount on Sunday (Feb. 5).
Linares, who was a freshman for the Tigers in the fall, was one of two players to start all 18 games for FHSU. Linares anchored a backline that allowed just one goal per game. In their first season of play, the Tigers went 11-5-2 on the season.
