Fort Hays State baseball hosts Emporia State in a four-game weekend conference series, March 28-30, at Larks Park in Hays. Fort Hays State enters the series at 7-16 overall, 6-14 in the MIAA, while Emporia State enters at 16-9 overall, 12-8 in the MIAA.

The Tigers are coming off a four-game series split with Northwest Missouri State this past weekend, winning the final game of the series 12-11 in 10 innings. The Tigers had two come-from-behind wins in that series, taking the second game 7-6. Both wins were in walk-off fashion.

If the Tigers are going to make a push for the MIAA Tournament at the end of the season, they are going to have to start making a move before too long. FHSU is currently four games back in the standings of eighth place, which there are four teams currently sitting at .500 in the conference tied for seventh. The top eight teams qualify for the MIAA Tournament.

Emporia State won its last two games, taking the final two of a four-game series with Nebraska-Kearney last weekend. The Hornets are currently third in the MIAA standings.

The annual "Pack the Park" event will be Friday (Mar. 28) night. Admission to the game is $3 for adults and $1 for youth (K-12). Admission is FREE for FHSU students with their student ID and for all-sport season ticket holders. Gates open at 6 pm. There will only be admission charged for Friday's game. The rest of the series is free.

There will be several promotions surrounding the event. The first 200 fans to the park will receive a Pack the Park T-Shirt, courtesy of TK's Smokehaus here in Hays. Burgers, hot dogs, and beverages will be on sale for $1.50 each. There will also be bounce houses for kids. No dogs or coolers are allowed into the park on Friday.
