Indoor Training Facility

About the Proposed Indoor Training Facility for FHSU Athletics

The proposed training facility will be located at the southeast corner of the FHSU campus, near Lewis Field Stadium. This 71,000-square-foot facility will be equipped with weights, cardio equipment, a four-lane synthetic track and an artificial covered surface that will extend 70 yards, although the final version of the project will depend heavily on future contributions.

Beyond the naming of the facility itself, there are other naming opportunities involved, including the field, the track, the lifting and cardio facility, and a wall of honor that will be established for individual donors and teams.

All athletic programs will benefit from this facility. Not only will it be utilized by the football program during inclement weather, but all outdoor sports will use it for winter training.

Gross Memorial Coliseum, built in 1973, still serves the department well for many sporting events and training, but has limited space for the year-round needs of multiple sports programs to maximize their individual and team performance goals.

FHSU Athletic Director Curtis Hammeke expects the facility to broaden training and recruiting possibilities for the nearly 400 student-athletes in attendance at FHSU.

Athletics is a window to the FHSU campus. Today, there are more than 350 student athletes at FHSU competing in 16 men's and women's sports programs. The need to enhance and incorporate state-of-the-art facilities is vital to the success of current programs and to recruiting the most talented athletes in the region.

Naming Opportunities:
Entrance - $50,000
Track Surface - $250,000
Multi-Purpose Field - $250,000
Wall of Honor Recognition - $250,000
Weight & Cardio Room - $500,000
Interior Banners - $500,000
Naming the Facility - $2,000,000 (A gift has been received and the facility has been named)
